Night star Flutes
My first encounter with the Native American flute was in 2000 when I met Raymond Redfeather of Heartwood flutes and I was mesamerized by the power and beauty of the sound they made. In 2004 my life changed direction dramatically and I was inspired to make my own flutes, first on my kitchen table and then in a tiny shed.In 2006 I was fortunate enough to move to the villageBroughton in Northamptonshire and NIGHTSTAR FLUTES are now made in a fully fitted workshop overlooked by horses in the field beyond.
NIGHTSTAR FLUTES ARE are based on those made by the indigenous peoples of America. Whilst honouring and up-holding the Native American tradition, I am trying to capture something of the mysticism and spirtuality of these celtic lands. The hard woods are sourced locally from a cabinet-maker, who has wood from storm damaged trees as well as those felled for developments.
Some of the imagery is based on the crop circles that appear in our fields. Other imagery, such as that of the green man and lunar symbols hark back to our pagan past. Each flute is as individual as you are, a thing of beauty that will give you years of joy and sweet music.
When I am not making flutes, I now travel the country; attending shows, giving talks and teaching workshops to introduce people to the magic of the Native American Flute

The drum is a powerful instrument. It can raise energy, lift spirits and calm the mind; freeing you from everyday stress and recharging your emotional batteries. I offer weekly groups, one to one tuition and workshops for any kind of event – parties, festivals, at schools and in the workplace. The instruments are West African djembes, bass drums, bells and shakers. We start with simple lively rhythms that are accessible to the most in-experienced players; focussing on creating an uplifting groove and having fun along the way. Technique, understanding of different time structures and more complicated rhythms and phrases are developed over time.
